More information and download instructions:

I would recommend you to convert your files to MPEG format, in case you’re confused by the large amount of options offered.

Also, you may want to check the resources shared in this previous post.

These solutions may not compare with paid proprietary specialised software, but they’re free. Many students have asked the same question, i.e. how to convert media files from and to different formats.

How to convert a Jing movie (SWF, Flash) to Quicktime so I can use it with other Mac applications? (Such as iMovie)

An easier way first, then a more detailed explanation if you check this web page for instructions on how to manually insert the HTML code required to show movies (SWF), like the ones made with Jing.

Otherwise, you could use the following instructions (summarised from this photobucket forum entry):

<embed width=”xxx” height=”yyy” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”filename or URL for swf file goes here></embed>

Replacing the following text in the code above:

  • xxx is the pixel width of image
  • yyy is the pixel height of image
  • filename or URL for swf file goes here is replaced with the URL code from under your swf file in your Photobucket account.

If you’ve got a new Apple Mac computer that came with iLife ‘08, you may have been frustrated with the new iMovie.

At school we have both iMovie 08 and HD 6, so if you have a Mac at home and want to get iMovie HD 6, just head to this webpage to download it. It’s free for iLife 08 users.

I’ve put together a couple of tutorials (basic and more detailed) on how to install and configure Foxmarks, an add-on or extension for Firefox.

Tutorial shows Firefox v3.0.3 under Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

A couple of articles you may want to read if you want to know more about computer virii (“viruses”).

Both from Australian PC Authority web site.

Can you trust antivirus rankings?

The antivirus software that I’m currently using at home is Bitdefender (Internet Security and Antivirus). AVG free seems to be the better solution when it comes to free alternatives, if you’re on a budget.

Another joke from Redmond. Read on if, for some weird reason, you want to know about the future of Windows.

This reminds so much about Windows 98 Second Edition! I never understood why I had to pay for an update as though it’s an huge upgrade…

Anyway, over to the links:

Read this article from Australian PC Authority Magazine website.

More on Windows 7 from Paul Thurrot’s Windows Supersite.

One website has a positive bias toward Windows 7, or is it trying to be unbiased?

The other one is negatively biased against Windows 7.
